Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke surprised a puff-puff seller during a rally in Osogbo on Thursday by purchasing all her snacks for N50,000 and offering her a job as a chef at the Government House
The gesture occurred as thousands of Osun public servants gathered for an appreciation solidarity rally, celebrating the governor’s support and care since assuming office.
In footage from the event, Adeleke, seated in a bus, called the woman over and asked how much it would cost to buy all her puff-puff. He then handed her a bundle of N50,000, prompting cheers from the crowd. Onlookers quickly rushed to share the snacks already purchased by the governor.
The governor invited the vendor into the vehicle, where an official asked about her educational background. She revealed that she holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE). Adeleke then inquired about the dishes she could prepare and directed his aides to record her contact details for employment as a chef at the Government House.
The development was confirmed by Olaniyan Taofeek, Commissioner II at the Osun State Civil Service Commission, who shared the video on X writing, “The moment Gov. Adeleke turned the life of a puff-puff seller into a Government House chef.”
A Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Media, Oni Gbenga Lawrence, also corroborated the story, posting, “Moment Governor Ademola Adeleke turned the life of a puff-puff seller to Government Chef… not only N50k but he invited her into his car and employed her as chef in the Government House.”
