He made the announcement on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch B Stream I corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area.

“As a government, we are committed to improving the welfare of corps members,” Fintiri stated. “This increment aligns with our promise to create a friendly and supportive atmosphere for you.”

The governor said the raise complements other welfare initiatives, including food support and measures to enhance the general wellbeing of corps members in Adamawa.

He also disclosed that plans are underway for the construction of a new NYSC orientation camp, adding that corps members with training in architecture, civil engineering, and quantity surveying would be directly involved in supervising the project.

Welcoming the new corps members, Fintiri described them as essential to advancing state policies, particularly in the education sector. He urged them to remain disciplined, contribute to community development, and build positive relationships with their host communities.

“As bonafide citizens of Adamawa during your service year, you are expected to uphold discipline, engage in community development, and cultivate healthy interactions,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, Commissioner for Youths and NYSC Governing Board Chairman, Wali Yakubu, advised the corps members to take their orientation course seriously, obey camp rules, and embrace skill acquisition for post-service self-reliance.

NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Osoro Caroline, praised the corps members for their discipline and active participation in camp activities. She thanked Governor Fintiri for his continuous support, calling him a “visionary leader and a beacon of youth empowerment in Nigeria.”

The event also featured the administration of the oath of allegiance by the Chief Judge of Adamawa, Justice Hapsat Abdurrahman, and the presentation of the NYSC journal to the governor.
