Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has awarded a cash prize of ₦2.5 million to the overall best graduating student of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye
The award went to 19-year-old Aishat Anuoluwapo Dauda from the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, who achieved a 4.87 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) to emerge as the top graduate.
In addition, Abiodun gifted ₦500,000 each to the 114 first-class graduates, including Dauda, encouraging them to uphold the values, principles, and discipline that contributed to their academic excellence.
“Graduands, as you step into the world, carry with you the values, and principles that have shaped you. Strive to be innovators, problem solvers, and leaders in your respective fields,” Abiodun charged.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Mrs Noimot Salako -Oyedele, an engineer, announced the cash awards at the OOU 34th convocation ceremony on Friday at the institution’s Main Campus, Ago – Iwoye.
