The incumbent Governor of Oyo
State, Governor Abiola Ajimobi has won yesterday’s Governorship election in the
State. Ajimobi defeated former Governors of Oyo State, Ladoja and Alao Akala
and other governorship candidates in the State.
This will be the first time in Oyo
State’s history that a Governor will serve twice. No Governor has ever served
twice in the history of the State.

Ajimobi (APC) pulled 327,310 votes,
Ladoja of Accord had 254,520 votes, Alao Akala of LP had 184,111 votes, Teslim
Folarin of PDP had 79,019 votes and Seyi Makinde of SDP had 54,740.
