Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State was denied access to the Rivers State House of Assembly Quarters in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, March 12, 2025

The governor had arrived at the quarters to present the 2025 budget, but he was prevented from entering as the gates were locked upon his arrival.
Fubara was accompanied by top government officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, and Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie. Despite efforts to gain entry, he was unable to access the premises.
Speaking on the situation, the governor expressed frustration, revealing that multiple attempts to reach Speaker Martin Amaewhule before his arrival had been unsuccessful.
The incident has sparked controversy, raising concerns about the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State and the relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government.
