Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has formally joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)
The state party chairman, Rufus Bature, presented Mutfwang with his APC membership card on Friday during a ceremony in Jos.

Speaking at the event, the governor said his decision to defect was driven by what he described as the best interests of Plateau State. He assured residents of an inclusive leadership approach and called for unity among the people.
“The journey we are embarking on is a journey of faith, and I believe that Plateau will reap the dividends of this union. I know there are skeptics, but I say be patient. Time will reveal everything. To the fearful, I say take courage, fear no more, because we have come for good. We have come to join hands; we have come to work together. For those who may be apprehensive, like I said earlier, relax,” Mutfwang said.
The governor also expressed appreciation to his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for providing a platform for his political career.
Mutfwang pledged to provide quality governance under the APC and thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support for Plateau State, promising to back Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
