Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo has relieved Fred Itua of his duties as Chief Press Secretary

A statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, said Itua will complete the handover process and await a new assignment to be announced in due course.

Dr. Ebojele Akhere Patrick has been appointed as the new Chief Press Secretary. The statement described Dr. Ebojele as an accomplished journalist, public administrator, researcher, and lecturer with a strong record in media, public affairs, and academia.

The governor’s decision, the statement noted, reflects the administration’s commitment to enhancing communication between the government and the people of Edo State, ensuring transparent, effective, and timely dissemination of policies and government activities.

Dr. Ebojele’s journalism experience includes serving as Edo/Delta Correspondent for Channels Television and holding correspondent roles at New Nigerian Newspaper, Champion Newspaper, and Comet Newspapers.

He succeeds Fred Itua, who is expected to transition to a new role after completing the handover. The government expressed appreciation to Itua for his service and contributions.
