Babagana Zulum has dissolved the Borno State Executive Council in a move aimed at preparing for the 2027 general elections
The announcement was conveyed in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani, and shared by the governor’s spokesperson, Dauda Illiya.

According to the statement, the decision is intended to create room for council members who may be interested in contesting in the upcoming elections.
Commissioners have been instructed to transfer responsibilities in their respective ministries to Permanent Secretaries no later than Friday, April 3, 2026.
Governor Zulum also commended the outgoing officials for their service, acknowledging their dedication and contributions to the growth and welfare of the people of Borno State.
