The Lagos State Police Command is interrogating Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the senior pastor and founder of House on the Rock Church, over a viral video showing him holding what appeared to be a firearm
According to a statement released on Tuesday, Adefarasin voluntarily reported to the police headquarters in Ikeja, where detectives began questioning him regarding the incident.
The invitation became necessary after a video circulated online showing the pastor lowering the tinted window of his Range Rover and pointing a g8n-like object at a content creator before driving off. The vehicle, notably, had no visible registration plate.
The pastor has since denied the object was a real weapon.
Police say investigations began as soon as the footage surfaced on social media.
“Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives who commenced investigation after the video surfaced online,” the police said. “The outcome of the investigation will be made public.”
