Gunmen suspected of being kidnappers have allegedly abducted Hon. Zacheous Dare Michael, Chairman of the Kabba/Bunu Local Government Authority transition committee in Kogi State, along with some of his aides.
According to a source, the incident occurred late Friday night on the Kabba-Okene expressway as they were returning from meetings in Lokoja. The attackers, who were heavily armed and numerous, fired repeatedly at Michael’s convoy.
During the chaos, the gunmen overpowered Michael and his security detail, leading to the abduction of him and other members of his entourage.
SP Williams Aya, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Kogi State Police Command, confirmed the incident, stating that a police-military team, assisted by local vigilantes, is tracking the kidnappers’ hideout to rescue the victims unharmed.
