A woman believed to be the mother of Mr Batram Igbe, an
Assistant Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, has been kidnapped. Madam
Rebecca Igbe was said to have been kidnapped from her community in Omuse, Elele
Alimini, in the Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Monday night.

According to reports, the unidentified gunmen stormed the
community around 9pm and shot sporadically in the air to scare people away before
abducting Madam Rebecca Igbe who was in a shop opposite her house. The 80-year
old begged not to be taken away, but they ignored her and whisked her away.
Residents say it’s the second time this year that kidnappers will be visiting
the elderly woman. According to them, she was also kidnapped earlier this year.
