A 300-level Linguistics student of Adekunle Ajasin University, simply known as Emmanuel, was on Sunday, shot and k!lled by gunmen in one of the private student hostels in Akungba Akoko
A student who pleaded anonymity disclosed to Punch correspondent that the deceased was shot in the room.
“It happened last night, the victim was shot while on his bed, in his room,” he said.
Punch Metro in a telephone interview with the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Odunlami Ibukun, gathered that the police had been informed and were currently investigating the incident.
He said, “It was reported to the police and they had to go to the crime scene. The incident occurred around 9:30 pm. The investigation is ongoing.”
The Vice Chairman of the National Association of Universities Students, Comrade Oladele Emmanuel, in his reaction called on security agencies and the university management to investigate the matter thoroughly and bring the perpetrators to justice.
