Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, has pleaded with Nigerians to intervene and urge her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, to bury the late singer
In a message shared on Instagram on March 12, 2025, she expressed frustration over Mohbad’s body remaining in the morgue 18 months after his passing.
Wunmi, who has been raising their son, Liam, alone, lamented that she never imagined having to beg for her husband’s burial.
She accused Mohbad’s father of deliberately delaying the funeral, not out of grief, but for the financial and public attention he continues to receive.
“To the general public, I am pleading with you—help me ask my father-in-law to bury my husband. There is no justification for why his body is still in the morgue after all this time. The man I vowed to love forever has been left in cold storage, denied a final resting place,” she wrote.
She further alleged that Joseph Aloba is also stalling the DNA test he had demanded, claiming he benefits from prolonging the controversy.
“He is also delaying the DNA test he demanded so loudly. He does not want the truth; he wants the conversation to continue because as long as it does, the money and support will keep coming,” she stated.
Wunmi ended her message with an emotional plea, urging that Mohbad be laid to rest so he can finally have peace and their son, Liam, can find closure.
