Kaduna-based Islamic scholar Ahmad Gumi has described the late Iranian leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as “a lucky soul” who d!ed defending the oppressed
In a statement, Gumi wrote: “Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: A lucky soul, he d!ed in Jihad against killers of innocent children and women in Gaza and elsewhere. His blood will fuel the change in the ummah. He stood firmly for Justice and didn’t hide in bunkers.”

Gumi’s remarks come as Iran announced 40 days of mourning and seven public holidays to honor Khamenei’s de.ath. Protests have erupted in Pakistan and Iraq, some turning violent, resulting in at least 21 fatalities in Karachi. Demonstrators stormed the US Consulate in Karachi, while the US Embassy in Baghdad was also targeted.
Khamenei’s legacy is being celebrated as a symbol of resistance against oppression, with Gumi highlighting his unwavering commitment to justice. The Iranian government has accused the US and Israel of orchestrating the attack that killed him.
The international community remains on high alert. The US has urged its citizens to exercise caution, as the situation continues to evolve with potential ramifications for regional stability and Middle East geopolitics.
