Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci has thrown her weight behind the #JusticeForOchanya movement, pledging N2 million to support organisations working with rape and sexual abuse survivors
In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram, Baci said she was deeply moved by the story of 13-year-old Elizabeth Ochanya Ogbanje, who was allegedly abused by her guardians and died in 2018.

“A 13-year-old girl who should have been safe, loved, and protected was failed by the very people meant to guard her,” she wrote. “As I read through her story, I couldn’t stop thinking about how many girls carry wounds like hers—some have found their voice, some are still silent, and some didn’t get the chance to make it through.”
Baci said honouring Ochanya’s memory means going beyond hashtags by creating safer spaces, funding healing, holding perpetrators accountable, and ensuring that no one ever feels alone in their pain again.
She announced that her N2 million donation would be split between two trusted NGOs supporting survivors of rape and sexual abuse, urging her followers to nominate organisations for review.
Baci also revealed she made a separate donation to the GoFundMe campaign supporting Ochanya’s legal case, encouraging others to contribute in any way they can.
“If you’re able, you can match or surpass my donation. And if you can’t give financially, that’s okay—lend your voice,” she said. “If you’re a lawyer, offer legal advice. If you’re a content creator, use your platform to amplify verified updates. If you’re part of a community or brand, support survivors.”
She added that the fight for justice is not just about courtrooms but about compassion, restoration, and ensuring a safer world for the next generation.
Her action has drawn widespread praise across social media, with many Nigerians commending her compassion and leadership in turning advocacy into tangible action.
