Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci has taken delivery of a massive pot ahead of her event
Baci is set to cook the world’s biggest pot of jollof rice tomorrow.
The massive red pot, which has a volume of 22,619 litres, was fabricated in Gbagada and was transported overnight to Eko Hotel, Lagos, the venue of the event.
Sharing a clip of it on her Instagram page, Baci wrote;
”At 4am this morning our pot was safely transported from gbagada where it was fabricated to @ekohotels Eko hotel where the event is taking place I’m still pinching myself this is actually happening in less than 24hrs”
More than 20,000 people have also registered to attend the event, making the original venue, Muri Okunola Park in Victoria Island, too small for the crowd.
Baci broke the news yesterday on social media saying;
“Now, we put out a link for people to register to attend the event. And to my greatest surprise over 20,000 people registered to attend this event”.
She added, “I mean, who am I that you guys really care about what I am doing. It means so much to me and I don’t take it for granted. Now, your safety and your comfort is so important to us and the venue we were going to be using before which is Muri Okunola Park, is a 3,000, at most a 3,500 capacity venue, which is not even enough to accommodate half the number of people that have registered.
“So, we have decided that we are going to be changing the venue, but this time the venue is bigger, it’s amazing and it’s not even far from the previous venue. The new venue is, drumroll please… Eko Hotels and Suites,” she said.
The event will take place on Friday, September 12, 2025, starting at 9 am.
