Yobe State Hisbah Commission has confiscated and destroyed 51 cartons of alcohol and 18 jerrycans of methylene chloride, a chemical locally known as ]Madarar Sukurdai, across the state
This move is in line with the state’s laws and Islamic principles, which prohibit the sale and consumption of liquor and other intoxicants.
The Commission’s Chairman, Dr. Yahuza Hamza Abubakar, disclosed that the state Hisbah Commission has also successfully resolved 565 disputes in the past year, addressing issues such as family conflicts, business disputes, inheritance cases, community disagreements, debts, farmer-herder clashes, and unpaid rents.
Most of these cases were resolved amicably through reconciliation and understanding.
