HIV-Positive man arrested for allegedly r3ping Sickle Cell patient

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended Peter Ugan, an HIV-positive man, who is accused of r3ping a teenage girl with sickle cell disease

The victim, a virgin, was reportedly lured into Ugan’s room, where the alleged assault took place on Monday, January 6, 2025.

According to reports from the Nigeria Tribunal, the victim suffered severe bleeding due to the violence of the act. Ugan locked Ngozi in the room to prevent her from escaping and revealing what happened, then left to buy unprescribed medications to address her bleeding.

In an interview, Ugan, who identified himself as a Front Desk Officer at an eatery, claimed that Ngozi was his girlfriend.

Ugan’s Account:

“She (Ngozi) was my girlfriend. I approached her for dating, and she accepted. We had been in a relationship for over two weeks before the incident. On January 6, I went to my friend’s house to cook, and she came to visit me. My friend lives near her parents’ home.”

“We shared a meal and were playing together. I then asked her if we could have sex, and she said yes. It was between 11 am and 12 noon. I used a condom and only then realized she was a virgin, which caused her to bleed.”

When questioned about having a condom while only going to cook, Ugan stated that he found one in his friend’s room.

Post-Incident Actions:

“After the incident, she started bleeding. I asked her why she hadn’t told me she was a virgin. I went out to get her some medications, but she insisted that I lock the door because she was scared. I expressed concern about locking her in, but she said it didn’t matter.”

“So, I locked the door and went to buy medications like Flagyl, Buscopan, and Diclofenac. I also got her a malt drink. After taking the medicine, she got up and said she was leaving.”

After she departed, Ugan returned home and attempted to explain the situation to his cousin, who suggested they visit her parents to clarify things and offer support for her treatment.

However, before they could leave, Ugan was confronted by security personnel, Ngozi’s mother, and her siblings. He was subsequently taken to the police station and detained, and the following day, he underwent testing related to the incident.
