Irish actress Brenda Fricker, widely known for her role in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, has d!ed at the age of 81
Her manager, Phil Belfield, confirmed to TMZ that the Oscar-winning actress passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Paying tribute, Belfield described Fricker as an extraordinary talent whose absence would be deeply felt.
“We will never see her like again and the world is lesser for the lack of her. I was honored to know, love and work with her and she will always have a place in my heart and in the heart of so many film and TV fans the world love,” he said.
Fricker enjoyed a remarkable acting career that lasted more than six decades, earning acclaim for her performances across film, television and stage.
The Dublin, Ireland born actress was originally trained as a journalist before making her acting debut at the age of 19 with an uncredited appearance in Of Human Bondage (1964), a role that launched a distinguished career in entertainment.
