A multi-storey white hospital building in Calabar suffered partial collapse after heavy rainfall and soil erosion weakened the stability of its foundation
Video footage from the scene showed sections of suspended concrete and exposed supporting columns.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
There’s criticism over the building’s construction, with observers raising concerns about shallow foundations, inadequate soil testing and the apparent lack of proper erosion-control measures in vulnerable areas such as Unicem and Diamond Hill.
