In a recent appearance on the TeamwithTaypod podcast, female rapper Mocheddah took a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about her early days in the music industry
She shared fond memories of studio sessions with some of Nigeria’s top artistes, including Wizkid and Ice Prince.
Mocheddah revealed that she began frequenting music studios at the tender age of 14, often accompanying Wizkid to studios in Ojuelegba.
She recalled watching and learning from veteran musicians and producers, including the late OJB Jezreel.
The rapper also spoke about how her parents, although initially concerned, eventually supported her passion for music.
Her mother would often escort her to studio sessions, and she was given a curfew to ensure her safety.
She said:
“I became a studio rat at 14. Wizkid and I would go to studios in Ojuelegba together. We’d watch and learn from veteran musicians and producers. My mom would take me to studios and I had a curfew. Later, I became friends with Wizkid and Ice Prince, and we’d go to studios together. We didn’t record, we just watched and got inspired.”
“I was 14 when Wizkid and I use to visit OJB studio at ojueleba to just go watch other artist record just to get inspired. At the same time Wizkid and ice Prince became my protector.”
