Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan hinted at a potential role in the Trump administration during an appearance on Fox News Channel on Saturday.
Speaking with host Brian Kilmeade, Hogan recounted a backstage conversation with then-president-elect Donald Trump during a rally at Madison Square Garden in late October.
According to Hogan, Trump suggested he could head the President’s Council on Physical Fitness.
“My president said, ‘You know something, you’d be great to run the President’s Council on Physical Fitness,'” Hogan recalled, jokingly correcting himself after referring to Trump as “Donald.”
Kilmeade played a clip from ‘The Daily Show’, where Jon Stewart had joked that Hogan would become the “Secretary of Take Your Vitamins.”
When asked about the joke, Hogan explained the context of his conversation with Trump.
Hogan said they discussed nutrition, the poor quality of food in the U.S., and its impact on children’s health.
“It’s so bad and it’s poisoned a generation of kids,” Hogan said.
The discussion led to Trump suggesting Hogan could inspire kids nationwide to get in shape, calling him a perfect fit for the role.
Trump reportedly told Hogan, “You’re 71, you still got that Trump pump-on, brother,” adding it would be great if Hogan could help American kids improve their fitness.
However, Hogan seemed unsure about taking on the role, citing his semi-retirement. “My thing is I’m a beach bum, brother. I love staying on the beach,” he said, but added, “You never know, it could happen.”
