This makes him the first child of a sitting US president to be convicted in a criminal trial.

The president has stated he won’t pardon his son.

The jury delivered a unanimous verdict after three hours of deliberation.

Hunter Biden faces up to 25 years in prison, but as a first-time offender, he’s likely to receive a sentence of two years or less, or possibly no prison time.

The judge will determine sentencing in about four months.

Additionally, Hunter Biden faces federal charges for allegedly failing to pay over $1.4 million in taxes on time, with a trial scheduled for September.

The gun-related charges stem from his purchase of a Colt revolver in 2018, while struggling with addiction.

Prosecutors alleged he lied on gun-purchasing forms, which is illegal.

The conviction is likely to be appealed, with Biden’s lawyers arguing the federal law barring drug users from having guns is unconstitutional under the Second Amendment.
