Tonto Dikeh has opened up about her emotional and spiritual transformation, revealing how her walk with the Holy Spirit saved her from anger, depression, and even suicide
In a heartfelt post titled “7 Things the Holy Spirit Healed Me From,” the actress reflected on the darkest period of her life — when she nearly ended it all — and how divine intervention gave her a second chance.

Tonto confessed that she once lived in constant pain, battling deep depression and suicidal thoughts. According to her, she attempted to take her own life twice before God stepped in and saved her.
“Depression was my closest companion, and I attempted suicide twice. But God said, ‘Child, get up.’ And I did. Weak, trembling, but alive,” she wrote.
The actress said the Holy Spirit taught her to replace her pain with empathy. “Now when I see people acting from a place of pain, I don’t judge them. I intercede for them because I know what it feels like to lose yourself trying to survive,” she added.
Tonto also revealed that she once had uncontrollable anger that destroyed relationships and peace in her life. “My anger was not power; it was pain disguised as control,” she said, adding that God healed her and taught her that peace and silence carry more authority than rage.
The actress said her return to Christ after years of emotional struggle became the turning point of her life. She testified that God delivered her from sexual immorality and restored her completely.
“Celibacy has been one of the most powerful experiences of my life. It is not suppression; it is strength. Now I hear God more clearly,” she shared.
Tonto recounted how her faith has brought restoration, even reuniting her with her sister after 45 years apart. She described her success and open doors as “unmerited favor,” saying, “Doors open before I knock. Protocols are lifted for my sake. It is not luck. It is grace in motion.”
She concluded by saying she now guards her peace fiercely, having survived darkness and found strength in stillness.
“If it does not feed my spirit, it does not deserve my energy. Nobody is allowed to stress me — not even me,” she wrote.
Tonto Dikeh’s story stands as a raw and powerful testimony of how faith, healing, and the Holy Spirit helped her overcome the brink of despair to live with peace and purpose.
