Dele Momodu, a senior figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has dismissed claims that he holds anti-Peter Obi views, affirming that he has consistently supported the former Anambra governor

The clarification came via his verified X account, where Momodu responded to a user, @Blazeregent, who accused him of bias against Obi. The allegation followed Momodu’s earlier remark urging Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart Bode George to rid himself of what he described as anti-Atiku sentiments.

In response, the X user wrote: “Purge yourself anti-OBI first. You have no moral right to criticize matters like this. If you have the right to be perpetual anti-OBI, so is anyone else to be perpetual anti-ATIKU. Daddy wa, please go and rest.”

Momodu rejected the accusation, noting that his support for Obi dates back to when former Vice President Atiku Abubakar selected him as running mate in a previous presidential race.

“I can never be anti-Obi. The first time I supported Obi was when Atiku picked him as running mate,” he stated.

He also dismissed suggestions of any conflict between Obi and Atiku, emphasizing that both leaders maintain a relationship marked by mutual respect in public and private interactions.

“I’m not aware they are enemies. They always treat each other with mutual respect in private and public,” Momodu added.

His comments come amid intensified political discussions within opposition circles as parties position themselves ahead of upcoming elections.
