“I can’t marry down” – Omotola Jalade’s daughter says

Princess Ekeinde, daughter of Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, has spoken about her views on marriage, standards, and the kind of partner she considers suitable for herself

She didn’t mince words when explaining how she sees things when it comes to relationships.

She said;

“I can’t marry down because of the kind of family I come from. If you know, you know. Obviously, there is a standard that my family has already set, and I have to follow that precedence. Anything lower than that is a no-no. Outside of that, I also want to marry up for someone that I love. I think, when you are in a certain standard, you can only go up from that standard.”

For her, it comes down to what she describes as a “standard” shaped by upbringing and family reputation.

In her view, once someone reaches a certain level in life, the expectation is to match or go above it when choosing a partner.

She also made it clear that love still matters in the equation, saying she wants someone she genuinely connects with, not just someone who fits the status she described.
