President Bola Tinubu’s former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Aliyu Audu, has criticized the president for denying him access throughout his time in office, despite serving as one of his spokespersons for nearly two years

Audu, who resigned from his role a few weeks ago, expressed frustration over the fact that he never had a one-on-one meeting with Tinubu during his tenure.
He questioned why the president chose to meet with celebrities and politicians like singer David Adeleke (Davido) and Lagos PDP politician Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor), but not with him.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Thursday, Audu openly declared his intention to oppose Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“I worked for the President for nearly two years. I didn’t have a sit-down with him. I’m one of his spokespersons, but he sat with Davido, who insulted him a couple of weeks before,” he said.
“Then he sat with that Jandor, who didn’t even come second in the Lagos election. It doesn’t make sense.”
A few days before Audu’s resignation, Davido’s uncle and Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, visited President Tinubu in Lagos.
In March, Jandor—who contested the 2023 Lagos governorship election under the PDP—also met with the president shortly after announcing his departure from the party.
