Singer Adedamola Adefolahan, better known as Fireboy DML, talked about his experience working with music legends on his fourth album, ‘Adedamola.’
The album features several renowned artists, including Seun Kuti, DJ Spinall, and American singer John Batiste.
In a preview of his interview on Africa Now Radio, Fireboy said he included these icons to give the album a “nostalgic feel.” He was especially excited to have Lagbaja on the project, calling him a “special artiste.”
“That is a special record, right there. It means a lot to me getting a legend like Lagbaja on that record,” Fireboy said.
He explained that the album has a strong theme of nostalgia, which is why he chose to work with music legends. “Right from the very beginning, I knew this record was special, and I could not wait for everyone to listen to it.”
Fireboy also shared an interesting moment from the studio, saying, “You would not believe this, he was masked up in the studio. It was crazy I did not get to see his face. I had a few interesting thoughts; I wanted to ask him if I could see his face. But you know, all that matters is that we made the music. That’s what makes Lagbaja, Lagbaja.”
Lagbaja is known for always wearing a mask, which keeps his identity hidden.
