BBNaija star Maria Chike Benjamin has broken her silence over allegations that she “snatched” a man from a marriage, insisting she had no knowledge that her partner was married when their relationship began
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Maria addressed persistent rumours linking her to a married man, widely identified as Kelvin Anene. She firmly denied ever intending to break up a marriage, saying, “I actually wasn’t aware whether or not he was married when we first started dating… I didn’t destroy any marriage. I have never and would never.”
Maria explained that much of the speculation is fueled by personal details involving others, not her own actions. She emphasized that she does not owe the public a full account of her private life, saying, “There’s just so much personal stuff that would have to come out, and I’m not ready for that. It’s not my personal stuff—other people’s personal stuff—and it has nothing to do with me. I would never shed light on it because I don’t owe anyone that sort of explanation.”
The former reality TV star also stressed that she would never deliberately hurt another woman or interfere in a marriage, noting her empathy for women who have been betrayed. She said, “I know how it feels when intruders come into a relationship or marriage. I would never even try to do that to another woman.”
Maria’s comments come after years of public speculation about her relationship and the circumstances surrounding it, as she seeks to set the record straight while maintaining her privacy.
