Tems, a musician, has reflected on her experience in a Ugandan prison, describing it as a humbling “blessing in disguise.”

She and Omah Lay were arrested for allegedly violating COVID-19 protocols while performing at a concert.
After their arrest gained attention, they were imprisoned but released shortly after, thanks to the Nigerian government’s intervention.
In an interview, Tems expressed her gratitude for the experience, stating it humbled her and allowed her to understand the challenges faced by prisoners.
