Former President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that he sustains himself through earnings from renting out one of his two houses in Kaduna State

Speaking at an All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting held at the Presidential Banquet Hall in Katsina State on Saturday, Buhari emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in leadership.
Buhari stated that he did not corruptly enrich himself during his presidency, describing Nigeria as a complex nation to govern. He noted that many Nigerians fail to understand the challenges of leadership but are quick to blame their leaders during and after their tenure.
The former president, addressing the gathering in Hausa, disclosed that he owns only three houses: one in Daura and two in Kaduna. He added that his rental income supports his daily needs, dismissing any claims of illicit enrichment during his time in office.
“Nigeria is a difficult country to govern, but most Nigerians are unaware. You will not understand the complexities of leadership and the country itself until you find yourself in an administrative position,” Buhari remarked.
He also commented on his current well-being, stating, “I look much better and healthier now than when I was president. Anybody that sees me now acknowledges that I look better than before.”
The meeting was convened ahead of the forthcoming local government elections in Katsina State.
