Singer Niniola has shared a note about the loss of her husband, business manager and longtime partner, Michael Ndika, admitting that nothing could have prepared her for widowhood at 39
On Sunday, making it two months after his sudden passing, the 39-year-old posted the message on Instagram alongside a photo of herself in a gown and headscarf.
Niniola revealed she had planned to speak in a video, but the emotions were too heavy.
She said:
“I wanted this to be a video,” she wrote. “But I tried and couldn’t go through with it, so I’m putting my thoughts down here instead. 🙏🏿❤️”
“Today marks 2 months since my Husband, my Business Manager and my best friend, Michael, was taken from me so suddenly and unexpectedly. And not just from me, but from all of us.
“I lost my Dad when I was young, but that didn’t prepare me for this. Becoming a young widow has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced. Some days are okay. Other days the pain is too much to even describe.
“What do I do now? Where do I even begin? There’s so much we didn’t get to finish. So much left unsaid. And feelings I can’t even put into words.”
Despite the grief and the tough questions she’s directed at God, Niniola said her faith has carried her through.
“Even when all I had were hard questions and no immediate answers from Him, God keeps reminding me that He sees me. I’m grateful for that, and I’m holding on to Him to keep moving forward,” she shared.
She also used the post to thank everyone who has stood by her — family, friends, colleagues, the media, and fans.
“Thank you for all the love, prayers, kind words and messages. I don’t know how I’ll ever repay you, but please know I’m genuinely grateful,” she concluded.
