Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has publicly expressed regret over a series of social media posts aimed at former U.S. President Donald Trump, describing his own comments as excessive

“I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote on his platform, X.
The remarks follow a heated exchange between the Tesla and SpaceX CEO and Trump, triggered by Musk’s criticism of Trump’s proposed tax bill, which he labeled a “disgusting abomination.” The bill, which includes significant tax breaks and expanded defense spending, recently passed the House of Representatives and is now before the Senate.
Musk also urged Americans to pressure their representatives to reject the legislation, warning it could trigger a recession in the second half of the year.
Tensions escalated further when Musk, without providing evidence, claimed Trump appears in unreleased government files related to the late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein — an allegation the White House dismissed as baseless.
In response, Trump told NBC News: “Musk has lost his mind,” and accused him of disrespecting the office of the presidency. Trump also suggested he might cancel Musk’s government contracts, estimated to be worth $38 billion.
“He’s being very disrespectful. You cannot disrespect the office of the president,” Trump added.
Over the weekend, Musk deleted several posts, including one that had called for Trump’s impeachment and another in which he claimed he had helped Trump win the election.
