Just like many celebrities’ have confessed they regret supporting APC in the last general elections, Veteran rapper, M.I Abaga, has also expressed his regrets

Speaking on the Menism podcast, the “African Rapper No 1” said he initially backed the APC because he believed the then-ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was deeply corrupt.
“Yes, I supported APC because at that time, I felt that the PDP government was very corrupt. I was part of the people who lifted my voice to say, ‘Let us stand and bring in democracy,’” he said.
However, M.I said his decision has come back to haunt him, especially after he tweeted about a herdsmen attack in Benue State.
“I tweeted about the thing that happened in Benue and a lot of people were saying, ‘But M.I, you supported the APC,’” he noted.
The rapper admitted he made a mistake, stating that the APC no longer reflects the values he once believed in.
“As a human being, no matter how much you try to be right, you will be wrong sometimes. APC unfortunately isn’t the APC of my dreams,” he said.
M.I added that he is now focused on nation-building through music, advocacy, and empowering young people, stressing the need to use his platform to hold leaders accountable and inspire progress.
