I Stopped Egbas From Cursing Gbenga Daniel- Alake

The Alake of Egbaland, Oba (Dr.) Michael Aremu Adedotun
Gbadebo, Okukenu IV has said he was the one who stopped Egba sons and daughters
from going to Lisabi forest to invoke the spirit of Lisabi (the great fighter)  on former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga
Daniel for having a faceoff with him in 2009. He explained that a broadcast in
that regard had already been made on a radio station but he stopped them from
cursing him and invoking the spirit on him.
According to him, the well-publicised fight between him and
the then Governor was because he told the governor to repair a particular road
which was beyond damaged. I told him privately, and when he did not do anything
about it, I decided to tell him publicly, he said. This however didn’t go down
well with Daniel, and he made attempts of removing the monarch from his throne,
sources said. Below is what the monarch told Egba news about his ordeal with
    the ex-governor.

“I felt that the purpose of an Oba is the human and material
development of the people. I pointed governor Daniel’s attention to the
condition of the bad roads in the town privately, and when nothing was done, I
    told him publicly.
“I don’t see that as too much. It should not be something
that should be beyond an Oba, so, I felt the governor overreacted over the
    matter then.”
     “It was the grace of
God that saved the situation. Sons and daughters of Egbaland overreacted then.
I was the one that persuaded them not to turn the whole thing into a war.
“There was an announcement on one of the radio stations that
all Egba sons should report at Lisabi Forest. I had to stop that announcement.
“There were so many steps that were taken by then and I had
to stop them. Two wrongs don’t make a right,” he said.

BTW, I am so sorry that I haven’t updated the blog since
noon. It was due to circumstances beyond my control. I hope you understand. I
am sorry, emabinu. Don’t know how to say this in other languages, so let me
just borrow the pidgin language, no vex. Lol, but sincerely, I will make it up,
    that’s a promise…
