Social media activist and critic VeryDarkMan has apologised to members of Nigeria’s security forces over a statement he made during the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference.
Speaking about his comments, VeryDarkMan admitted that he was unfair in the way he described the military, police and other security personnel.
He said:
“I wasn’t fair to a lot of people, particularly where I said the military, the police and other security operatives are the unknown g√nmen. I have evidence to back it up, but the way I made the speech was not fair. There are still a lot of good security operatives.”
He said his criticism was based on evidence, but acknowledged that the way he presented it wrongly painted all security operatives with the same brush.
VeryDarkMan’s apology was directed at those who felt unfairly included in his remarks, as he made it clear that he recognises that many people serving in Nigeria’s security agencies are doing their jobs properly.
