The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has pledged to uphold President Bola Tinubu’s confidence in him, assuring that he will not disappoint in carrying out his duties
Wike made this commitment while addressing journalists in Abuja, responding to Tinubu’s recent remarks praising his performance.
During a traditional Sallah homage at the State House to mark the end of Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr, Tinubu hailed Wike as “Mr. Infrastructure,” highlighting various initiatives and projects the minister has executed. The president noted that these efforts have improved the lives of FCT residents, for which he remains appreciative.
“I could see the diversity of men and women here, I must thank the Honorable Minister of FCT. It’s worth it. It is nothing other than a privilege to be the landlord of every one of us in Abuja,” Tinubu said.
Reacting to the commendation, Wike expressed gratitude for the president’s encouragement.
“I feel very happy that my boss has confidence in me. If your boss, in public, says you are doing well, it’s an encouragement to continue the job you’ve been assigned,” Wike said.
“We’re happy to be identified with this administration, and we’ll continue to work for the happiness of Abuja residents. Each time Mr. President acknowledges our efforts, it shows he is watching, and we will not disappoint him.”
