Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Mineral Development, has visited the site of the explosion in the Bodija area of Ibadan, Oyo State
Alake visited the site today.
His visit was to assess the level of damage done by the explosion.
The minister who arrived at the Ibadan Airport was welcomed by some officials from the Oyo State government, along with Jesse Otegbayo, the Chief Medical Director of the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan.
Recall that on Tuesday, January 16, an explosion rocked an estate in Bodija, Ibadan taking lives and destroying many houses.
The explosion left about five persons dead, with 77 injured and 58 buildings damaged.
Governor Makinde had revealed that the illegal miners were responsible for the explosion.
