Prophetess Naomi Silekunola, was said to have reportedly collapsed on Friday following her arrest over the tragic stampede at her funfair in Ibadan, which claimed the lives of 35 children and injured six others
The stampede occurred when over 7,500 children attempted to enter a venue designed for 5,000 participants. Naomi, who organized the event was taken into custody alongside others linked to the tragedy.
The Queen Naomi was rushed to the Police Hospital in Eleyele, where she is said to be responding to treatment.
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has taken over the investigation, while the Oyo State Government has issued strict safety mandates for public events.
Governor Seyi Makinde has also canceled his December 25 birthday celebrations in honor of the victims, describing the incident as a preventable tragedy.
