Ibrahim Chatta narrates how he lost 49 horses at his film village

After seeing different claims about the horses at his film village, actor Ibrahim Chatta has decided to clear up what he says is the true situation.

Although he revealed that he is currently unwell, Chatta said he felt it was important to correct the record because of the different figures being circulated. According to him, many people questioned whether he even owned as many horses as was being claimed, with some suggesting it would have been impossible for him to afford that number in the first place.

Chatta explained that the reports people have been discussing are not entirely accurate. He said he did not lose 48 horses as widely claimed, insisting that the actual number is 49. He also shared that he once had a much larger collection of horses, many of which featured in several popular epic films shot over the years.

The actor noted that productions such as Ageshinkole, Jagun Jagun and Bashorun Gaa all made use of horses from his film village. He added that he now has 26 horses remaining.

Chatta also explained why he has not replaced the ones he lost. According to him, film productions have slowed at the village because many actors and filmmakers are reluctant to shoot in remote locations following the abduction of pupils and teachers at Orire School. With fewer productions coming to the village, he said there has been no reason to buy more horses for now.

He said:
“So l have seen lots of narratives and arguments on social media regarding the horses in my film village, though l am not feeling well presently but l need to speak regarding the actual Nos of horses that have d!ed for record sake. Lots of people have been saying is not possible for me to have 48 horses in my film village and some even said where would l get such money to purchase 48 horses let alone me losing them. For clarification sake, is not 48 horses that have d!ed In my Film village. Its 49 horses all together, l used to have so many horses before, all those epic movies you watch like Ageshinkole, Jagun Jagun, Bashonrun Gaa and so many other Epic movies, it was my horses they used during the production of those movies. And presently l have just 26 horses left, and l deliberately didn’t want to get more horses because our people are not coming to the village to shoot movies due to what happened at Orire School where children and their teachers were abducted. Lots of Actors are scared of shooting in the Bush now, that was why l didn’t buy more horses.”
