President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday sparked light laughter at the commissioning of the Nigeria Revenue Service building after making a playful remark about Senate President Godswil Akpabio
While speaking at the event, Tinubu jokingly suggested that he could assign Akpabio to represent him elsewhere, adding that the Senate President would handle it in his own style.
“Senate President, I will send you to the other side to represent me, and then you can scatter them anyway you like. They’re confused,” the President said.
The comment comes at a time of growing political tension involving the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to destabilise its activities.
The ADC also alleged it was being denied access to event venues due to intimidation, a claim that has been dismissed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who refuted the accusation on Monday.
