Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has referred to himself as a “golden minister,” saying his political journey shows he is specially favored by God
Wike made the comment on Thursday during the flag-off of the construction of Collector Road CN2 (Emmanuel I. Ogala Street) linking Arterial N16 (Yemi Osinbajo Way) to N20 (Wole Soyinka Way) in Katampe District, Abuja.
He pointed out that he served as Rivers State governor when the state celebrated its 50th anniversary and now serves as FCT Minister as Abuja prepares to mark its own golden jubilee next February.
“Some of us have been very lucky. We were governors when our state turned 50, and now we are ministers when the FCT will clock 50. Are we not loved by God?” Wike said.
He described the coincidence as divine, saying it is proof of God’s grace in his life and warned critics not to be envious of his success.
“Well, you may sit on my seat, but that doesn’t mean you are specially loved like we are loved by God,” he added jokingly.
The minister urged officials and contractors to ensure that the ongoing projects are completed ahead of the FCT’s 50th anniversary celebration.
