Actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot has said integrity remains a key part of his approach to public service, stressing that he does not engage in theft while holding political office.
The Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Surulere Constituency I made the remark during an interview where he reflected on his years in government and the impact of his tenure.

Elliot identified improved electricity supply in Surulere as one of the achievements he is most proud of, noting that residents once struggled with poor power but now enjoy significantly better service than they did a decade ago.
“I’ll say power. If you look at Surulere 10 years ago, it was a horrible place to live in. Today, electricity is one of the best you can find anywhere else,” he said.
The lawmaker also spoke about leadership and humility, urging public office holders to remain accessible to the people and remember that political positions are temporary.
“We will all die one day. We are not here forever. You are in that particular place for a reason, not because you are better than the next person. Trust me, there are way better people than you,” he stated.
