James Oluwatosin, an InDrive driver, has responded to allegations that he conspired with robbers during a passenger ride
The situation began when X user @Big_Itohan shared a screenshot of James’ ID, claiming he staged a robbery.
She wrote: “If you order a ride and you see him, please cancel. He’ll pretend something is wrong with his car and park so his gang can rob you. All of his door handles except the driver’s side are broken. I literally had to climb out through the driver’s side while he was pretending to fix the light and was on a call.”

Her post went viral, amassing over 5.5 million views, and was widely shared across WhatsApp, X, TikTok, and other platforms.
In response, James spoke in a video shared by @JustPaul332117 on X, denying the claims and saying he was being framed
. He explained, “My car actually broke down, and touts came to demand money from me. The lady started interfering and negotiating with the touts, and that’s when the misunderstanding happened.”
He maintained that he had no intention to harm or rob anyone and that the viral post misrepresented what actually occurred.
