President Bola Tinubu has declared his intention to seek a second term in office, insisting that growing security challenges across parts of the country will not deter him from continuing in power

Tinubu made the statement while receiving Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and other stakeholders from Plateau State during a meeting at the Presidential Villa.

Addressing concerns over insecurity, the President said attempts by critics to link the situation to his administration were being exploited by political opponents and hostile interests.

He argued that such narratives were designed to weaken his government, stressing that he remains resolute despite the pressure.

“I’m a very stubborn politician. I just refuse to go. And I will campaign for my second term,” Tinubu said.

“You are playing to the hand of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me.”

The remarks come amid a rise in insurgent attacks in parts of Northern Nigeria, particularly in the North-Central region, where Plateau State has experienced recurring security concerns.
