A billboard reading “We Will Kill Trump” appeared in Tehran on Tuesday, marking the latest display denouncing the president amid renewed diplomatic efforts and targeted defense strikes in the Strait of Hormuz on the eve of the U.S. midterms, which officials have called limited
The billboard, located in Enghelab Square, also depicts President Donald Trump as a prisoner with his head bowed.
A nearby billboard reportedly depicts Trump, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with bloodied faces and dirty suits.
Displays against the president have appeared across Tehran since the war began in February, including a billboard with his body poking out of a coffin, a life-sized replica of a jail cell with an actor portraying Trump and paintings of him bleeding out or where his face is obscured by a bomb.
The U.S. carried out limited defense strikes on Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, which a U.S. official said was in response to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps firing at an American aircraft.
Trump has stressed that a peace deal with Tehran is still possible, as the country “wants a settlement, as soon as possible,” though both countries have remained uncompromising on their core demands.
