Toomaj Salehi, a rapper known for speaking out against the government, has been sentenced to de3th for joining protests in Iran back in 2022. His lawyer confirmed the news.
Salehi, 32, has been held in solitary confinement and allegedly tortured since his arrest. Recently, a court in Isfahan upheld the de3th sentence for “corruption on earth,” a serious charge in Iran.
Despite international outcry and calls for his release, Salehi’s fate remains uncertain. Another rapper, Saman Yasin, has also faced imprisonment and mistreatment for his activism.
The protests erupted after the suspicious de3th of Mahsa Amini, a young woman in police custody. Salehi’s case has drawn condemnation from the United States and the United Nations, who demand justice and respect for human rights in Iran.
As Salehi’s supporters rally for his freedom, the world watches closely, hoping for a fair resolution to this troubling situation.
