Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, has delivered a grave warning, declaring that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, “can no longer be allowed to exist” after a de.adly missile strike hit an Israeli hospital
The attack on Soroka Hospital in Beersheba on Thursday caused widespread destruction, with several wards reduced to rubble and at least 40 people injured. The strike triggered panic and a massive fire within the hospital compound.
Iranian officials claimed the missile was aimed at a military intelligence facility, but it reportedly landed on hospital grounds instead, sparking outrage in Israel.
“This man, Khamenei, gives direct orders to attack hospitals. He has openly declared his goal is Israel’s destruction. A man like this cannot be allowed to continue existing,” Katz said at a press briefing, reinforcing Israel’s intent to respond forcefully.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also condemned the strike, warning that Iran would “pay a heavy price” for deliberately targeting civilians and healthcare infrastructure.
Soroka Hospital director Shlomi Codish confirmed that multiple departments had been decimated, including a recently evacuated surgical unit.
“Entire wards were destroyed, and there is extensive damage throughout the hospital — buildings, structures, windows, ceilings — all severely impacted,” Codish said on site.
