Ibrahim Yekini, aka Itele d Icon, has addressed the criticism he received from fans over his public support for Wizkid
The actor has been vocal about his admiration for Wizkid’s music, particularly his latest album, Morayo.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Itele d Icon shared screenshots of some online comments where people made jest of him for promoting Wizkid’s music.
He told his critics to stop attacking him for expressing his admiration for the singer.
Itele d Icon emphasized that he expresses love and appreciation for things or people openly, and that Wizkid happens to be his favorite artiste at the moment.
He wrote: “I’ve noticed some reactions lately because I’ve been posting Wizkid’s music. To those who feel upset, I want to say this: we shouldn’t attack each other just because I chose my favorite artist.”
“For my true supporters, you’ll know that I often use different music on my page, and it’s always been about sharing what inspires me.
“So please, don’t dislike me for loving Wizkid! And don’t stop loving me for being true to myself. At the end of the day, it’s all about love and positivity. Let’s spread more of that.”
