In a statement on Tuesday, Obasanjo recounted her recent meeting with the President in Lagos, describing the discussion as both memorable and productive, with a focus on leadership and national development.

“Yesterday in Lagos, I had the privilege of meeting His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Our conversation was insightful and forward-looking, focusing on leadership, governance, and the ongoing development of our nation and Ogun State,” she said.
Obasanjo expressed gratitude for the President’s guidance and commitment to democracy, noting his support for nurturing the next generation of leaders. She emphasized her own dedication to serving with integrity, experience, and a people-centered approach as the consultations ahead of 2027 continue.
Reflecting on her governorship ambitions, she said, “I have been part of the political landscape of this state for many years and I understand the aspirations and challenges of our people. Experience is vital in governance and delivering meaningful development.”
She outlined her priorities if elected, including strengthening education, improving healthcare, and creating job opportunities for the youth. “Our goal is a state where young people have meaningful employment, schools cultivate future leaders, and health institutions meet citizens’ needs.
